I have never opened up my Jeep engine replace a head gasket or anything like that. Would it be possible to replace an engine block (or entire engine) with just rhino ramps, floor jack, and jack stands? I replaced an engine mount just a floor jack and the jack that came with car.
Also when it comes to putting the engine back how common is it is have problems after? If I remove all those lifters and reconnect the engine to where ever it goes how likely did you do all that work just to need to hire a mechanic?
Additional Information:
What about buying the rebuilt engine?
These guys are selling a Jeep engine with the fancy differences. Also I think that there is a place in Florida makes the exact engine for the XJ, anyone know the name of that place?
Where would you get the parts for a new block? What is the typical way to replace parts for a Jeep with bad engine?

Buy a cherry picker and an engine stand. Remove the entire front of the vehicle. Hood, header panel, radiator. If you have ac, it will/should be emptied/refilled professionally The engine can be lifted more or less straight out.
