Did a lot of research on this. A lot of reviews say the crowns after a year or so sag and the dorman don't. Haven't been able to do the spring swap yet myself but when i do I'll probably go with the dormans. If I had a little more cash to spend there is a place called generalspringkc.com who's springs sound really good. Haven't heard from anyone who has used those though. Myself I put on a set of the coilovers also back in July as I went on a camping trip and needed to drive a couple hundred miles with the jeep fully loaded. No ill effects from the shocks so far other than the annoying sounds they make over bumps.
My original plan was to go upcountry style but couldn't find a good set of front springs. Only ones I can find are the moog variable rates wich have horrible reviews. Thought about zj springs but found many conflicting answers on wich ones to use. Just going to make it easy and buy stock height parts.

Well..heck...This German boy been on this forum for less than a half dozen posts and have better things to do than argue.I.of course new springs are the answer..as I said in my post..till my wallet can afford the springs.....I am going to save myself some time and if Oregoncoasts classless responses are the norm for this forum...I will pull a Davey Crockett.....and stay in Texas...and watch my ponies pump up and down to the bank.So long

If you are that thin skinned, maybe you should reconsider spending time on the Internet.

how can anyone say a dorman 929-301 standard duty leaf spring is heavier duty stronger than the hd crown ? see link above im confused now? is crown just crap?....false specs? is crown the "harbor freight tools" of leaf springs ? (ie break in a day?) im looking for the stronger more durable....longer lasting spring......with constant weight in back of 200-300 lbs....tools
is dorman standard duty 929-301 heavier duty (ie will last longer and sag less and take more weight abuse) than the crown hd spring?

Please....stop....using....periods....and....just. ...type....sentences....when....posting. I feel like I'm reading morse code.
The other posters simply gave a valid opinion on using coil overs on the rear of an XJ, and made a fairly good point.
You also effectively nullified your attempt at a "classy" post with your last statement.

Here are a few threads with good info for choosing leaf springs. Google had many others where these came from.

Well...been where you are...serious sag..Yep..spring droop.I did some checking and went with the quick easy way out...Monroe 58594 coil overs...Amazon reviews were great for the droop...and ride.I put them on...coils took some of the load and springs sit normal again..actually she sits higher than stock....Smoothed out the ride.. that was unexpected...Stance was higher and I will enjoy them as long as they last....spring set can wait till my wallet catches up.
