Hello everyone, this is my first time on this forum and wanted to ask if anyone could help me with finding a vacuum diagram for the engine and ac/heat. The only ones i can find are for the 4wd and the underside of the car (i think all XJs had the same system for that).
My dad bought the car a long long time ago, he got the shell restored but no one figured out the vacuum system because the previous owner tinkeret alot with it. An example of this tinkering is that there is a VW N75 vacuum solenoid stuffed into the firewall that goes to the 4WD unit.... I mean you gotta work with what you got but come on.
Anyway the cherokee is a 1984 2.1TD 4WD with AC and cruise control valve on the injection pump if that helps. (CC was retrofitted by previous owner and it has a newer steering wheel with buttons for it)

I will see what I can find after work today. I too have a 1986 XJ w/ J8S 2.1 td engine. I'm just getting the bugs worked out. The only vacuum issues I've dealt with so far was the boost pressure line (not really vacuum) was broken and therefore, NO BOOST. I have an early issue piersberg (sic?) diaphragm style vacuum pump that I want to replace with the rotary style before it bites me.

 

This is all I can find. It is from a Comanche Service Manual. Given the way it looks, it might be the Australia version.
