When is was cold out my jeep barely wanted to start. I would have to run the fuel pump numerous times to get the jeep to get a spark. Once it got warmer the problem went away and my jeep started just fine. I ran out of gas the other day and made the mistake of trying to start the jeep. Now my fuel pump does run when I turn the key to the on position but it still takes three 10 second intervals of priming then starting then one more prime then it starts right up. Fuel pump or FPR?
Any idea what your fuel pressure is?? How does it run when it finally gets started?
Ever consider a clogged fuel filter? You might have sucked some crud into the filter when you ran it outta gas and now the filter is restricting fuel flow...

Did it sit for a while with low fuel? Maybe water in the lines? Mine has done that twice this winter due to negligence on my part leaving it sit with a low (fuel light on) fuel level.
In any case, you need to get a fuel pressure gauge and check your pressure if the problem continues.

You might have a bad fuel filter or fuel pump.Normal fuel pressure is 53psi engine hot, and when you shut down the engine, pressure must be kept in the fuel line.I had starting problems,my cherokee never started on the first firing. After fuel filter change it was all good.
