Default Issues with Bushwacker Flares on the rear door

This post is for anyone who has or has had Bushwacker flares on a 4 door XJ preferably 97 and up. I am in the middle of installing them and am not sure how they are supposed to go on the door. Mine don't seem to line up like it seems they should. If you have pictures (or could take some) of the door opened so I can see if mine is right that would help out alot. Or if you can just give me some ideas of how you got it to line and your experience with them.

I know this is a very specific question, but any help (from experience)would be great.

they are not supposed to line up with the edge of the door. they should hang down a bit. you should be able to see inside the flare from under the door edge.

i will take a pic of mine tomorrow for ya. however, it's an earlier xj, but still the exact same idea.

Thanks caged. That is exactly what I was wondering. A picture would be great if you get around to it.

Thanks for the help. That is what I thought they should look like, but just wasn't sure. Mine will be on hopefully today.

Thanks again.

Just got a set for myself and of course have questions also. So then is that what that little flat piece is for to fill the gap between the flare and door? And, Athenscj5, how did they work out for you. I have a '99 and was wondering about things like the molded bumpers and molding being different than the earlier XJ's. Got any pics? Thanks, Mike
