Hey Guys,
I'm having a couple issues that I'm thinking may be related, but then again, maybe not. Here is what's going on:
1. Engine makes loud noice when first starting, or upon acceloration. The sound has got to be the cooling fan, as the noise is exactly like that of air moving through a fast moving fan. This noise is correlated with RPMs both while in motion as well as idling. Also, it seems to take a while for my Jeep to heat up. This has me nervous going into the winter!!!
2. The heat isn't really "hot"; It's more luke warm. Now that the fall is here I had the opportunity to turn the heat on (for the first time since I got her) last week and it didn't seem hot to me at all. The engine was at normal operating temp when I checked, and I gave it a few mins too.
NOTE: When I first got her one of the first things I did was flush the coolant. The radiator looked fairly clean inside and the coolant has kept a decent color. There isn't any fluid loss, either.
Any thoughts?
Thanks, Fellas!!!!

The noise you talk about is hard to determine. More info/vid? My guess would be either the fan shroud is rubbing or there is something loose? Are all puleys good?
The heat is most likely the heater core. It's probably got a partial obstruction. You need to flush and backflush the system a lot to clean it of completely.

I would assume so, since I wouldn't get a temp reading otherwise, right?
If not, how can I check to make sure it is there, and operational?

The motor will heat up without a t-stat or with a "stuck open" t-stat, just a lot slower, especially in cooler weather. Remove the t-stat cover to check. Do u know what the PO did maintenance wise (cooling system, etc.)? Might be a good time to start a thorough once over bumper-2-bumper.
