Hey y’all, currently pulling my hair out and hoping someone has a clue or has had this happen.
Got an electrical gremlin that seeming comes in at random. When it happens,
- the turn signals and hazards don’t work
- rear defroster is constantly on, sometimes rear wiper and fog lights
- interior lights don’t work
- heat doesn’t blow hot
I’ve cleaned up all the grounds and greased the harness connectors under the drivers side interior, flasher has been replaced. None of these seem correlated and I’m at a loss here. There hasn’t been any aftermarket wiring or shady splices, all wiring is stock. Any advice or input is much appreciated!

2) most of the problems you're seeing look like their based on the control panels with the heat and wiper/fog light controls. Might want to take a harder look at the center console

Dielectric grease is to prevent corrosion, should be just what you want. So on xj with a few miles, the usual trouble spots for what you describe are:
1). The frame to drivers door grommet gets distorted and the wires inside chafe on the sharp edges of the door, or
2). There are c wire loom connectors by the back hatch gate, by the tail lights, both sides but the drivers side seems to be worse. Pull off behind where the spare bolts on inside to get at them and have a look. You can bypass the connectors if they have oxidation and white or green funk by wirenutting in splices to go around them,.
this is what I’ve found on my xj
