So, my interior lighting is screwed up. First, the fuse holder is burned up, just one terminal. The previous owner jumpered a wire to make the dome lights work, but they only work when the engine is running. Both dome light lenses are missing, and the cargo area light is so damaged it will no longer hold a bulb.

I'm wondering what some of you folks have come up with for your rigs. I'm undecided whether to return my system to stock, or take the opportunity to upgrade.

 

At auto zone they sell led boards that are designed to fit in the stock location and they hard wire into the factory wires. I put them in mine because the plastic that holds the metal contacts broke. They are nice and bright.

 

I have an 01 with the police package. The K-9 unit that had it previously removed the old dome light. In it's place they installed an open faced light shell. It holds a 1156 bulb and has a push button off/on switch. It puts out a lot of light in the dark. The options in the cargo area are numerous.You can splice in on the passenger side where the spaeaker wiring comes drom the front. I got rear speaker wiring with light from the junkyard to hookup rear speakers. I have the light just hanging back there for the time being untill I decide where to mount it permanently.
