Hello, brand new to the forum and already have a question. Just picked up a2001 XJ, 60th Anniversary edition which replaced my well worn '99 sport. I've had my fair share of electrical issues with the '99 but this one is unique. Here's the problem: my headlight switch activates my rear wiper...any thoughts?

Have you verified that the fuses are all good?
Maybe getting feedback thru wiper.

Where did you purchase your 2001? Privately or from a dealer?
Privately...then you are probably the victim of a DAPO...

Anyone familiar with the wiring routing for an 01.
May have to trace the wiring forward from rear wiper and see where it's tied in. Perhaps the DAPO could not correctly diagnose an electrical problem with the rear wiper and just connected it whereever they found power.

Other than that...Call a priest for an exorcism???

 

Have you check your grounds?

 

It was in fact a poor ground...all is well...for now.
