Default Instrument Panel Problem

Update on dash...

I used http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/...tification.htm

for fuse diagram.

Turns out when they "fixed" my headlight problem they must have rewired them because fuse #4, #5, & #6, were all missing.

My headlights still work magic and replacing #6 with a 5 amp fuse fixed my instrument panel cluster, AC, shifter, 4x4 panel lights.

They also used a 5 amp fuse in #23 Right side marker, turn, parking and tail lights, so Im going to replace that with a ten (I used the 5 amp to test the dash)

Thanks again!

check manual for relating fuses, both under hood, and in cab by pass. feet. if it is actually the indicator lights in your dash that you are refering to as the brown lights, or something, then it is prob just a relay or fuse.

Did not come with a manual. And Have had no luck searching online.

And sorry to confuse, when I mentioned brown lights it was in reference to the color of the bulb casing on the back of the instrument panel.

The brown ones illuminate spedo, tach, etc. (They do not work)

The black ones illuminate the gas, check engine etc. (They all work fine)

I just spoke with the local dealer i bought the jeep from, when I bought it the headlights and brake lights didn't turn on, so they "fixed" them. Well after conversation today he said his mechanic did have to rewire he "thinks" the headlights. He also said they replaced the bulb switch and that didn't work.

So I'm still hunting for fuse diagram, do i have any other options to light up this panel?

id get a little more aggressive with that shop. they were the ones who "fixed" the issue, the first time, but it sounds like there are some questions regarding the quality and know-how of the technition that did said work. the fact that there is no manual means you cant asses basic issues yourself, and must either have the knowledge already, or bring it to someone to asses for you, usually not for free. idk, man. it sounds like that shop has some expalaining to do!! good luck!!

"Makes tim taylor grunt"

So, of course when I "checked" all the fuses they were good.

#6 was missing, that is instrument cluster light. WOOT!
