i didnt have any vibrations when i first installed my 3 inch lift, but 4-wheel parts said that i didnt need to put the transfer case drop on so i was like ok, well i went through 2 sets of u-joints in my driveshaft, went up there and they said my shaft was at too much of an angle, after the 2nd u-joint was in, i still got vibrations so, installed the t-case drop and no vibrations and my u-joint has been fine since.......My open chrysler 8.25 actually seemed to put more traction to my tires, I'm not able to spin my tires as easy as i used to so it definately helped 2 things, i'm happy with the outcome. Jeep rides smoother as well. Shorter shaft wont fit-lift makes the body move up creating too much of an angle, therefore you lower the t-case/crossmember

What do you mean how did i lift my rear-end? I had 4-wheel parts install the lift and everything. the only way my rear end is lifted is through the bigger tires i have on my jeep.

Well it was 3 inch when i first put it on the jeep 2 years ago, its procomp. but procomp didnt put new leafs in the back, just an add aleaf which didn't do squat, so i bought some rough country full leafs and put on there, then i installed 2 inch shackles on them so the back sits about an inch or so off-center from the front but i like it that way so when i have weight it doesnt sag. they are tereflex shackles. I am running BFG A/T KO 31x10.50 R15 on mickey thompson classic lock wheels. I have a couple pictures up in my profile.

That explains your vibration and why you've gone through u-joints. Your rear pinion angle is off causing issues

im new to the whole lifting of jeep thing but when you say you put two inch shackles in the back is that like blocks under the leaf spring for extra height? and thanks for the info regarding the vibrations, im going to lower the t-case and go from there. Its generally 1 inch you lower it right ? I would imagine you wouldn't want to go much more than that.

yeah I'm definitely 18. Rolled the clock over in October(one of the best days of my life)

The reason i'm a "CF Veteran" is because I've spent more time than I care to admit reading, posting and doing other stuff on this site. Since I bought my Jeep I've probably spent in excess of 50 hours on the internet doing research on them.
I have a bookmark list of links worth remembering that has like 30 links in it

no, its not blocks. Blocks are a really bad idea. Shackles(on an XJ) are the rear mounting point for the leaf springs, if you put longer shackles on it gives you lift(1/2 the length of the shackle) and can make the Jeep ride softer and flex better. For Transfer case drops its typically 1" its recommended that you don't do more than that.

here is a link for the transfer case drop kit, its extremely cheap so yeah, Blocks are a no go.....more prone to breaking the leaf. The Shackle i bought is a 2.0 inch so it really only gave me about 1.5 inches of lift in the back but it was perfect with what i wanted. http://www.quadratec.com/products/product_search.php?kw=transfer+case+lowering+kit&s ubmit=Go

excuse me i meant my shackle is a 1.5 inch so it provided about 1.0 to 1.5 inches depending on the application....my bad idk what i was thinking. It raised it alot more than what my stock ones were doing, they looked like half an inch long....lol.... here is a link on the shackles i got, they go on the far back of the leaf that connects to the back of the jeep. http://www.quadratec.com/products/16191_703.htm

do you think its better to buy a kit to drop the t-case or just go to a hardware store and buy some type of one inch washers and new bolts?
