Default Infinity amp into 98 cherokee non infinity system

A friend of mine had a 96 grand Cherokee limited edition with the infinity sound system, i have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee that does not have an infinity sound system. My question is, can I use his amp with my jeeps JVC headunit if I don't have the infinity system, is it at all possible to wire it in and make it work just by using a amp wiring kit?

I called best buy and they said that it wouldn't work because on the Jeeps with the infinity sound systems everything is designed to work as one, because everything is infinity and the amp has two or three wires that plug into it and connect directly to the factory infinity sound system. I feel like if its an amp then it just needs a wirig kit to connect everything, so I don't see why it wouldnt work. But before I drop the money on this amp, has anybody tried this yet?

The amp has a factory plug so that it would be easier to assemble in the factories. I had the same idea you did, until i saw that the amp was plug and play. In realty, if you figured out which wire was which you could use it, but i dont have that kind of time.

That was my idea a wile back. I bet if you got all.of the wiring for it, it would work. I think all and all it'd be cheaper to get a amp and wire stuff the normal way
