Could some one identify this cable. It's hanging under the dash and seems to be going up into the steering column.
This Jeep was an automatic transmission that was changed over to a manual by the previous owner.

 

Looks to me like the gear selector or the deal that shows what gear is in with the disply P R N D

 

i dont have one or id do it for you, but look in a Haynes.
look up transmission parts or interior dash diagram, it'll break things down and should lead to that part. chances are you'll be able to eliminate it, sell it, use it as a necklace...any or all of the above!

 

I agree i just had my center counsole removed and i was looking at those.. there are two there a grey one and a red one.
