How to get better gas milage out of your Jeep Cherokee...
#1 put 24" tires on it.
#2 convert it to 2wd.
#3 lower it to the ground
Congratulations you now own a Volvo wagon.
Actualy if you own a pre 97 XJ there indeed something you can do to increase fuel economy. Simply changinging your intake manifold to one found on the 99 and up models can give you a slight fuel mpg increase. Also getting new remanufactured injectors that have a better atomising patteren will also help.

Thats FUNNY right there! When Im on the highway up here, I usually do about 72 and MOST are BLOWING by me. My mom is like 180 miles one way from me, and my wifes is 385 one way. Yeah, 60mph, no thanks. Id probably cause an accident going that slow. Hell, my GRAMP doesnt drive that slow on the highway.

Just a thought to the OP. With OBDII your ECU is constantly trying to run the best air to fuel ratio possible. This is why we have o2 sensors, map sensors and many others. If you all of the sudden introduce more air into the system then your computer will add more fuel to reach that perfect mixture of (supposed to be) 14.7 to 1. So while a "higher flowing" air filter will have many different positive affects on your engine I personally havent seen K&N filters really improve fuel mileage. I know they advertise it this way but honestly I have seen more problems created by them than good. My opinion (not every one has to agree) is if you have a reg filter and change it when needed (constantly check) you will be just fine. Just my .02
