Usually I agree with you Kyle but I think that is overkill unless you have a dedicated trail rig or rock crawler. The expense does not outweigh the versatility of 1 tons on DDs. JMHO

i would much rather have a strong steering setup on a daily driver.

gotta build it to wheel, get you home, and drive you to work the next day without issue.

You talk like a guy with deep pockets. That would work in an ideal world but most people who are not Bill Gates have to pick and choose their upgrades.
Thanks for your helpful comments Mr Gates.

I don't have deep pockets but I don't like to spend money twice either. If it takes longer to save the money then wait longer and do it right the first time. Too many people do the "get by" upgrade and it ends up failing so then they spend the money on the good upgrade. Now they have spent even more.

I personally love my 1-ton steering, it feels firmer and it seems to handle alot better and mine is a DD.

$230 is all it cost.

sure you could buy a cheaper steering upgrade such as rustys for not much less then have it snap on a speedbump then buy one ton

or you can keep the stock steering, have a loose feeling front end, break it when a butterfly lands on it , replace, repeat.

i agree with steering as something to think about if you are DDing your jeep and especially on 31's or smaller. i saw 2 sets of stock steering get bent in 1 day at rausch creek without even hitting anything. the tie rod gets hit all the time if you are going to wheel your rig alot and if you have to drive it home and to work you will regret not having a beefy tie rod

I never upgraded my stock steering on my ex-tj with 33's and i wheeled the **** out of that thing, every weekend. Never managed to tweak or break anything. I guess i can say i didn't wheel it hard enough or just lucky.
I do carry spares though

ZJ tie rod is enough of an upgrade for most except hardcore dedicated rigs IMHO. Change the tierod/draglink and you will have a sufficent upgrade for most wheelin'. TREs are larger and it is a bolt in.

ZJ tie-tod, and Dodge 3/4 ton TREs. OH, and the front skid to help guard the steering links.
