Yea! More good news. My 2000 Cherokee Sport now makes a beautiful lawn ornament. Everything was going great until Thursday when I went out to start my Jeep and put the key in the ignition and nothing happened. Tried to turn the key and it would not turn. We tried everything possible to turn the key over to no eveal. I,m guessing I need a new ignition switch. I have replaced these on older vehicles, but never on a Jeep (or any vehicle that has an air bag). Any insight on this procedure would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

I had the same problem with mine last week except that i could turn my key from off to acc to on but nothing would happen so i picked up a chilton book and a new ignition switch and in about an hour i had her running like a champ. Although if ur key doesnt even turn it might be the igniton cylinder so id try a little WD40 in it and if it turns but wont start then its definatly the ignition switch

 

It could be the neutral safety switch too.
