Lower gears with the boggers would be an improvement. Part of what you need to do is move mud with the tires. It works a little like sand. When you move mud backwards, it propels the Jeep forward. Try running in low range and find the hightest gear she can power.

I bought a D30 front that has a arb and 488 gears but I can't find 488's for a 8.25 rear so they haven't found there way in the jeep yet. I'm alittle worried that the 4.88's will limit her to high range only and loose gear choice. Should I stay with 410's and that way I can still use low if the pit is deeper/sticky?

I would just use low range. You can achieve a good 50 mph tire speed in 4th gear. You have greater choice in gears, 4 instead of two in that speed range.

Thanks, I'll keep the boggers and 488's and start working on getting the motor rebuilt. Should I throw a 258 crank and rods in the motor since it's coming apart anyway or is it not worth it unless you go all out on the stroker?
