I have a 99 XJ and my windows were only opening from the drivers side. I put the jumper wire to bypass the child safety lock and it worked, however my Passanger side window wont go down from either switch. I figured it was a bad motor, I swapped it and still broken, I changed the switch and still no good. (I did run power to the wires and the window goes down that way)
I bet that in my harness the wires to the passanger side are shot. Ill look into to it when it gets warmer
My jeep has had the jumper for a few years now.

Well I never pulled my harness...but the jumper mod worked for me. My problem was that my passengers could not put their respective windows down. Now they all work. So this is still good to know. Iwill check them anyway.

Is the drivers side door harness part of the fuse block on the passenger kick panel or does it unplug before there. Im sure its the harness at the drivers door cause if I open the drivers door and pull slightly on the rubber boot, SOME of the passenger side goodies work on those switches. Gonna use spiral wrap on the wiring harness at that boot after I fabricate a new harness. Thanks in advance
