So it started with what seemed to be a dead battery. Jumped it and started then died. Jumped again while feathering the gas pedal and it started up and ran a little. Won't idle. She'll only run if you feather the gas pedal. Any ideas? Help? Stock 4.0 inline 6 Standard Cherokee(no cool packages) Yeahhhhh thank you guys

this litterally just happened to me a day or two ago...

crank it up.. and stay on the gas.. keep it reved up for a few minutes.. then slowly let it back down... when the batteries die.. the jeeps DO NOT want to stay started without the throttle down a bit..

i finally got it to idle.. then went to a parts house and swapped the batteries since it was on the fritz anyway... it was still acting like it wanted to die at stop lights... so i just two footed it the whole way...

So this problem is just due to the battery dying out?

had this problem on my 99, the terminals were really corroded. even up the wires. clean em real good, replacing the battery isnt a bad idea either
