Default Identifying Part/ Part # for 1997 XJ 2.5L Turbo Diesel

Good Afternoon All!

I am wondering if I could get some assistance identifying a part and finding a replacement for my 1997 2.5L Turbo Diesel? I think it is the idler pulley. I’ve attached a video. Any help is welcomed! Thank you.

Of course. That's your vacuum pump, not an idler pulley.

It's driven by the serpentine belt and provides vacuum for the brake booster and other systems.

The part is specific to the 2.5L Turbo Diesel. You'll need to search using your VIN or look for "Vacuum Pump for 1997 Jeep Cherokee 2.5L Turbo Diesel."

Check with diesel-specific Jeep suppliers or European parts sites, as that engine was not common in the US.
