ID This Jeep wheel for me-

Is this a 5X4.5 rim? I know it is 7" wide but guy is unsure of the bolt pattern and I don't want to drive an hour each way to have it be incorrect.

yea thats a 5x4.5 stock jeep wheel
IMO it aint worth driving an hour each way for though you can probly pick one up cheap at a local JY or even pick up a black steel wheel for the same price locally and get better backspacing and something in the 8" wide range
just my $0.02

Cool, that is what I thought too, but wanted to be sure. I think it is from an older XJ actually, but I am hardly an expert.
I think they will look cool black and silver (silver cutouts and Jeep logo) mounted with my new GY MT/R 31X10.5s.

they dont look half bad the way you said(i did it to my old spares) and they are from the early 90s jeep line but like i said be warned they have horrible backspacing and are narrow which can lead to popping off the bead with wider air down tires , you also may get rubbing with those 31s

I've been looking for a set of 8" rims without luck. The saving grace of these rims is they are cheap ($50 for the set of 4) so even if they rub I can ditch them when I find something I like better without much loss. Painted well I know I can sell them for more than the $50. BS is 4" or 3.75 on the 7" wide stock wheels?
7" wide should be fine with 31s, yeah 8" would be better but 31X10.5 on a 7" rim never had issues on my old TJ with stock 7" wide steelies aired down and wheelin'. No hardcore wheelin', just trails @ 25 PSI aired down.

I ran those rims with my 31x10.50's. They rubbed the lca's while turning (almost at lock) but thats it. The backspacing should be 5.25" on those. Mine were. What wheels do you have now? I'd hold out until you find some 8" wide 4" backspacing steelies if I were you. You are bound to find them on CL sooner or later. I got a set of four that I am running now for $100 canadian.
I have a set of these wheels now:

No idea what the backspacing is. My tires are still at the tire shop until I get the lift installed (or a second set of rims). The XJ has a set of 225/75 15s mounted on them now but two are mostly bald.

If the backspacing on the ones you are looking at and the ones you have are the same, I wouldn't get the one's you're looking at. Unless you prefer the look, there's no benefit to changing them
Well I am looking for a second set of wheels as I have a set in the garage (from my Toyota 4Runner) that are street tires that have about 500 miles on them. They will make good winter tires (Cooper all season radials) that are 265/75 15's (29.5X9.5 or so) that I want to run in winter on the Jeep, and so I will actually use them. :-)
