Default IAT (intake air temp) sensor

Hey all,

I'm relocating the IAT(1990 cherokee 4.0 inline) to the airbox and I had a question. I want to get this done today so I dont want to order anything. The sensor is a little gunked up. What can I use to clean this without trashing it? Or would it be better to replace with new? Would parts stores carry something like this?

Most auto paets stores should carry new IAT's ($12 or less)

You'll know you have it CLEAN when you can see the diode inside the plastic cage is Light Blue.

I relocated mine a long time ago. I will pass along some valuable info from my experience...

This can be considered a "warm weather mod". What I mean is the mod works best in 75*F weather or higher. Cold temperatures will cause the mod to be less than desirable. (Rough idling, POOR MPG, hard starting)

What I have done: I have TWO IAT's (one in intake and one in air box), I lengthened the wires for the connector to reach the air box mounted sensor.
Warm weather arrives, I move the connector to the air box. Winter-time (or colder temps), I move it back to the intake mounted IAT.

Still have to run the wires. I also removed the restriction in the air box.

THANK YOU WILDSPEAR.
That pic just made my day!

Why? The write-up you have laying there.

Did you have the "beverage" handy like I suggested?
