IAC pintle position
Either replace the IAC or like said, check for a broken line. I had a crack in my boot to my map sensor so I just ran a rubber line to it instead of that plastic line with a rubber boot

I think a good majority of jeep owners had that map sensor line issue. I did. Stupidest most brittle Line ever. I slowly and carefully took MAP off once and it still cracked in half.
Dr.Flintstone's right about OUR 96's.
When I needed to replace my IAC the only symptoms I could tell were no high idle at start up and low idle at operating temp. Forgot to add that I never did trip a code.
