Everyone needs to give useful information, don't knock the guy down, tell him what you think but do it nicely and not demeaning. This is supposed to be a forum that helps people when they have a question about their Jeep, its ok to have a laugh every once in awhile when its appropriate but the PO didn't appreciate some comments i see. That happens alot on here. Drifting in an XJ is a blast, Is it dangerous? Yes, but if you do it safely i dont see a problem with it. I drift my 97 all the time, 5 inches of lift. i only do it on gravel roads or when its raining and the roads are wet. He asked a question, if you don't like what he asked, keep your remarks to yourself. Thats my opinion.

Its your Jeeep, do what you want with it man!

dont mind that guy.. every forum has there *** hole he is CFs.. dont take it to personally, after all it is the internet..

as far as your question goes i agree a lift will not help.. just work on keeping your center of gravity low and all 4 planted..

Happy Reading,
I'd like to do that to my XJ, the shocks and bump stops are way over my budget though.

Lift like 1.5 inches + fullwidth's. Your track will be so wide you wouldnt be able to roll it on flat ground if you tried.

Should handle like a sportscar and fit 33's.

So you're drifting your jeep in a place so bumpy you need a lift? Can I have your stuff when you die?

Probably won't be much left. Maybe some bolts and washers?

Cool idea. Ive done some ralley in a STI, but never seen a cherokee used this way. Be interesting to see what she looks like when your done building. I do think you need stock hight or lower. You should be able to handle any sections on a novice ralley corse with the stock hight. Use skid plates and wide tires. Have fun!!!!

Not exactly the best thing to drive for it but anything can be done. In my opinion don't lift it. Go with the wider wheels and get some stiff shocks that are stock or maybe alittle longer travel. That way the wheels can drop when need be but can stay more stable so you can keep it from flipping over. Then maybe you can trim the fenders for any up travel and poss some bigger tires. If I were going to do it this is what I would do.

There is a reason you dont see jacked up 4x4's in normal drifting events. They rollover too easily. You need to stay low to the ground and have a wide wheelbase to keep the Center Of Gravity down low enough that you wont go cartwheeling off into the woods the first time you drift into a pothole or rut.

Fullwidth axles and some wide 31's or 33's should do it.

Just dont come sliding sideways around a corner and getting nailed by a logging truck.

haha dude sick idea but at the same time its a dumb idea
not tryin to rag or nothin but i almost flipped my stocker making a left turn from a stop light

my advice if u wanna be different and do something like i did and take a 4 banger (my first car) $300 banger and turned that into a rally car.
and every time i went to a competition i never saw another ford escort out there.
i had to lift 2" and throw wider axels and wide tires on it to maintain control
never wrecked 1ce
