Default I think my wife got screwed over. HELP!!!!

I am in Afghanistan and I had my wife take my Jeep into a 4Wheel Parts to have the 4.10 gears and a detroit locker for the rear installed. My uncle was going to install it for me, but it fell through. I wanted it to have some kind of warentee since I wont be there to fix anything. Anyway, I called her this morning and she was crying. She dropped off the jeep for the work and they called her, saying that she had to buy a "housing" for the rear locker, because they couldnt get the old lunchbox out of the factory carrier. It is my inderstanding that the Detroit replaces the carrier, so what the hell did they sell her? Whatever it was, they charged her $500 for it, and they didnt give back the old parts, that she said she wanted back. Im pretty pissed off about it all. It was the 4Wheel Parts in Englewood, CO, and the sales guy's name is Kirk. This is the locker that I gave them to install. Am I missing something??

What does the Receipt say they sold her for parts? For the price of 500 dollars, it sounds to me like maybe you had the wrong locker and they bought a new axle housing to match the locker you brought in. I'd cover all your basis before calling them up and tearing them a new *** hole.

The link you posted is for a 8.25 29 spline rear axle, are you sure thats what was in your Jeep?

It was the correct locker, and a Jeep friend of mine went and looked at the parts before she took them all over, so that I know that everything was right.

Was it the carrier based Detroit locker or the Lock Right lunchbox locker also from Detroit. Unless you have a 8.25 axle you would need a new carrier to go to 4.10 gears.

I think everyone from CF needs to give ole Kirk a call, or visit if your close enough. Post his number and your wifes name. So they will know who we are talking about

That is my biggest pet pieve. Auto shops taking advantage of women. I told my wife, "If you ever take your car to a auto shop, If they tell you it needs something, Call me first".

Precission tune auto care wanted to charge her 100 bucks to change a serpentine belt. I did it for 18 bucks and 10 minutes of my time. I have a lot more examples too. thats just one

Agreed. Sounds like more BS from shops.

I'll call, and I can probably get another 5-10 guys to call with me from Canadian Offroad.

This type of stuff cant be tolerated.
