Angry I rolled my xj

On Thursday I rolled my xj in the snow. I'm ok other than a sore neck and shoulder, however my jeep will not turn the starter. Is there something common that I should look at? It acts like it is not in park. Lights do not dim, no noise from starter, dash lights come on like normal. The roll was fairly easy on 12"-18"of snow and I did not hit anything solid, just 1.25 times over.

You mean, like a common " no start after rolling your vehicle " scenario? 😉

Glad you came out of it good

Does not even crank?

Check and see if it will start in neutral....may of whacked your safety switch.

Then I would start at the battery making sure your cables are tight and then find all the grounds for the electrical and make sure they are clean and tight.

there could be many reasons, so you will have to diagnose a "no crank" fault

I would suspect the NSS, among other things

my 1st test would be to verify if 12V is present at Starter Solenoid when cranking

If your vehicle was upside down for any time, I would make sure there is no fluid in the cylinders by removing some spark plugs and crank engine with wrench

I don't know what the problem was but the jeep starts and runs fine now. Before it wouldn't even try to crank, like nss, but without doing anything to it it works now. Thank you for your responses. Other than a sore neck and sholder I'm fine and the jeep can be used on the road. I need to push the roof back up where it belongs, untweek the doors, and clean out all the junk that showed up from the odd corners it was hiding in. I already have the rear glass back in, so the only leaks are at the top of the drivers side doors where they close against the drip rail instead of the gasket. also need to push the roof back up where it belongs. It's about 2" low over the driver and 4"-6" low over the passenger. the window gained one crack across the middle and about a 2" by 9" area at the top passengers side that got cracked up pretty bad but still keeps the weather out. I am amazed how good the jeep came out of this!

I'm thrilled , I do not have to replace it immediately! It will look rough but it works.

My condolenses Be happy the irreplacable part (you) is ok. Maybe consider buying a good rust free, dent free dead jeep, and transfer all the good parts you have into it, then sell off the extra bits?

A photograph would be interesting, I am a rubber necker. But seriously all is fine so long as you are.

Best of luck in what ever you do for the repair.
