i need locker/ diff help.
ok so as most of you know i recently ran thru a bit of trouble getting thru a hole haha. i belive it's time to get some sort of locker, better tires, and a snorkle (yeah found lots of mud in the air box.) i forgot what axle i have up front its a 93 cherokee sport I6 4x4 with the 8.25 in rear. my dad seams to think the front should already have something in it but as i recall this last hole i it i have open diff in the front too. need a bit of help can the experts please tell me what i need to get? i want a cheapish locker for the front. (so i can still drive normal untill i put it in 4x4 and it locks in)(thats how it works in the front right?) and possible something to help in the rear but i don't want to have to take turns at 10mph if you get me. thanks in advance

Id say an aussie for your front Dana 30 would be great. I have one and it works wonders offroad and i dont even notice it onroad.
I also have one in my rear and while it works great offroad wheeling and what not when it comes to street driving i dont like it (My Opinion). I live in the city which means im constantly having to merge in and out of traffic and i find it likes to lockup while turning and eats up my tires a little bit. If i could redo it i would go with a selectable locker in the rear but it all really depends on your driving style and what driving conditions you drive in.

Kinda depend on budget. If you have the cash the best way to go is a Selectable Locker, ARB, Ox, or e-locker. If you want to do it for less dollar go with an autolocker, Ausie or Lockright. The auto locker is locked all the time, but will release when turning if not under power. People claim you don't notice it when in 2wd. The selectable is just that Open till you activate it then it is fully locked.

not at all cheap..but the ARB's are "invisible" when not engaged. I've got the same rearend and it's got an ARB, but I also am running 4.56's and have had no problems with where I've wanted to go. My front axle (and probably yours too) is a Dana 30 and it's still an open dif. I don't have the vaccuum disconnect that yours might have...that can be problematic. Plus you'll need an air compressor on board to run the ARB's
All that said, can't go wrong with ARB and I LOVE the capability it gives me and also having the ability to tap into the compressor to air up my tires....just my opinion
