Bottom line is those orange ones are a step up from the stock '00 XJ injectors but not as much as the 784's. But they would look cooler in you engine compartment.

These would be a good compromise though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Injec...item4cf5a59de6
LOL. So how should i attach them to the rail without a C-clip.

Also are you sure i won't go lean at WOT. I mean not that i beat on it, I don't at all. But i do gas down ocaissionally. I don't want to worry about detonation.

Please tell me if you really know or not. Please no guessing, lol. I can't afford a guess.

For the c-clip, just solder them in place.

Concerning running lean, that's why you reset the ECU. After doing so, the computer will relearn the fuel trim levels over the next 50 key cycles.

Well firstly both the injectors we looked at on Ebay and the 784's all use the clip-nuts so that's not a worry. Secondly, if you really want to be sure you can get some 784's or 789's which run at the exact same cc/min as the stock XJ ones and avoid all the worry. But long story short all injectors are made to work at various PSI (However almost every test uses 43.5 psi as a constant to computer flow rate per minute) and X% of duty cycle needs with various reserve capacity and variances + or - are built in. So getting an injector that is only 10% or so off of your vehicles spec isn't going to affect much. And as has just been mentioned the computer will adjust the mixture to compensate for a mild variance like 10% off. So bottom line, if you are already commited to getting one of the 2 Ebay sets mentioned don't worry to much. If you arent grab some 784's so you can relax and worry about something more important like the Mothman.

Well I'm not commited to any ebay set-up. I allready had these ford ones laying around. I really don't want to mess with making the clips work.

But i do appreciate the help. I think i'm gonna go get some 784's out of the junk yard. I refuse to pay someone $60. for something i can get and clean myself for maybe $30 bucks tops.lol.

Running lean is too much air and too little fuel in the in the air/fuel mixture.

FYI - I put a set of these in my 2000 and they did not work. Ran like it was missing, obviously not enough fuel flow... Mine were brand new too. So I went with the 0280155789 (only because my local junk yards didn't have the 784's) and they work great!

784's are the easiest and best IMO.

interesting result from the swap. Was it running like that even after resting the ECU? This is the first time I've heard of them not working.

Good luck on that $30 goal. I won't go into all the details, but trust me, it's more than $30 to do it right. $60 (includes shipping) on here is a VERY fair price.

Even after the ecu reset it continued this. I even swapped them around to double check, and same thing happened. So not sure...??? Looking at them the four pintle holes are obviously smaller then stock and also smaller than the 789's. Now they collect dust on my work bench.

Hmmm, based on the pic of the ports, that injector is NOT brand new. There shouldn't be any of that brown buildup on a brand new injector, even one used for a short amount of time. I'm thinking you might have gotten a bad one in the set. Grab an ohm meter and test each one to see of they're all reading around 12ohms.

Actually the one in the picture is brand new. It must be the picture showing whatever you see...anyway, they all ohm out at 14.3.

There is no details to go into. Nordplz. with all due respect... you really shouldn't comment on stuff you are not sure about.

I got the ford injectors for $4 each and thats for a v8 injector a year ago. for a total of $32 for 8.
Thats over 30 but we are talking v8 injectors. so mine will be cheaper being that they are 4cyl injectors.
I allready have the seafoam, the 9v battery and a volt meter. This is not rocket science to clean these and doing it right will be well under $60. even if i had to buy more seafoam it would be just about 40 bucks.

I would be getting the 784's from the same J-yard and prolly the same price if not a buck or 2 cheaper per injector. So figure 20-24 bucks. Thats still alot cheaper than getting them off ebay.

Ebay is good for those of us who don't now how to do these type of things or have the time.
