Default I don't like my new tire and wheel combo

I just had some Cragar wheels with 4" BS installed. I thought it would be ok to put the stock 225 75 15 tires on but it looks really bad. The tires look like they should be on a low rider. My goal is to have 31X10.50 tires. Can I run the 31"s with a 2" lift or do I need more?

Okay. so you thought 225s would look good with a 2" lift? That was your first mistake. 30x9.50s definitely, 31's should fit, but might rub fenders full lock and flex.

I knew I needed bigger tires, but unfortunately the 225's are brand new. I just bought this XJ and I'm not wanting to spend to much more money. The new tires alone are going to set me back at least $500. I was thinking about 2" spacers and shackles.

You can get all 4 tires sent to your door for under $350.

Find your self some ZJ Upcountry coils, they net around 2" or so. Or I guess you could do spacers. And for the rear bastard pack with S-10 or Dakota/dodge van leafs and shackles. Shackles themselves on stock leafs will more than likely create some axle wrap and thats no good.

^^ As I stated above. They are great and easy on the wallet. You could get them and sell the 225s either by themselves or with your stock rims. More than likely make close to your money back if not more.

I think I'm going to leave the suspension stock for now. I have a few questions for www.treadwright.com. I think I'm going to try them.

On stock suspension you should be able to fit 235/75 fine, 30x9.50 with possibility of rub.

Here is a picture of my jeep, it should give you a good idea what yours will look like. I have 31x10.5 tires on rims w/4.5 backspacing, and a 2 in spacer lift up front, stock rear. I just trimmed the rear fenders, no rubbing at all. I think it looks pretty sweet too.
