Default I changed my ignition switch, it worked, bolted everything back and it does not.

I have been screwing with my ignition switch for about 3 or 4 days now. the first one I bought worked but was faulty because it was missing a spring.

my second one was perfect yesterday. everything worked perfectly. I started my jeep and everything was great.

the only thing that changed, was I waited 1 day to screw my steering column back in place. I put everything back together and I had power to everything except my starter never kicked on. I am having a hard time with this one. I mean.... c'mon, it just doesn't make sense.... any ideas? this just happened... haven't tried to test it or anything. what could this be? thanks in advance!!

welp, i think i was had by a neutral safety switch... it has always been kind of screwy in certain situations, but i have always had a sweet spot of putting it in neutral and pushing forward... with it being so cold I guess it is acting up more,

long story short... i fixed everything and its running real great. Thanks for the input team. I love this forum!!!!

Old grease in the NSS turns into road tar in cold weather and the switch contacts get stuck. Clean and re-grease. I used a silicone based grease on mine, seems to handle the cold just fine.
