I am currently building up a 94 out of the parts from my 87. using the block and crank as well as the interior from my 87 and really the rest from the 94. while i have it torn to ***** I am considering trying to find another donor cherokee from a junk yard or something with a manual and doing the swap. I would much rather have a manual for the better gas mileage and more control less to go wrong with trans etc... I have searched and searched on here for a write up on this and cant find one can anyone with a little more knowledge of cherokees point me in the right direction? I would like to know other than the pedal assemblies, trans itself, and clutch assembly what else will this entail? is it not worth the hassle? what parts and years can i make fit?

The Jeep is the only auto in the family but I'd keep it that way - it suits it. I don't see many threads complaining of faults with the autobox, and you can tow more with the auto.
In the end though, it's a personal preference.
