hp d30 lp d30

I'm going to look at a 2000 cherokee tomorrow. Is there a visible difference between the two? From my understanding some early 2000s still have a hp???

Yes the low pinion is much lower, below the axle tube center line. The high pinion is above it. Chances are if its a 2000 then its a low pinion. My 2000 was built in September 1999 and had the low.

That sucks, I came across a really good deal on a 2000 but I already am in the process of replacing my d30 in my 94. Id hate to have to do both :|
