Sorry but I found my fix.
The system is just so underpowered and has such junk speakers I couldn't handle it so I just up graded everything.
I had speakers in my doors and hatch on my 93. I got an aftermarket head unit but the RMS wasn't high enough for the juicy 300 watt 6x9s so I got an amp. 4 ohm to run my sub and two 6x9s. So I have 6 speakers and I'm putting the 6x9s in a sound bar mounted behind my head and now the problem of the sound bar is to small (not deep enough) and I have to do some modification to make them fit.
