Default How To Remove Rear Bumper Caps?

Hey, first post here.

On my 96 cherokee country, i want to remove my 2 rear bumper caps and replace them as they are both dented in. I am having trouble though. I can remove the 2 lower bolts easily, but the upper bolt holding it on is in a difficult spot to access. How/what do i use to get at the bolt that is above the bumper, yet still inside the cap?

Not really sure, but the entire bumper is only held on with eight bolts. It may be easier to get at the fasteners that your trying to get with the bumper off. I'm not sure because all I've done is pull the bumpers off, not just the caps. HTH!!

you can pull the end caps off with a couple bolts. i dont remember exactly where they are, just look around for them. like cosxj said, i've only taken off the entire bumper. i don't see them as being difficult to remove though.

i think mine only had the two on the bottom, and they slid onto a bracket type thing. i think i slid them either forward or backward to get them off. not worth my time to put back on, but thats just me

Okay, got the old ones off. There was 2 bolts on the bottom, one post that went from the bumper cap through the bumper and had a push on grommet thing on the other side. and on the top, there was a square plate thing with no tool socket on the top, and a nut on the bottom. I ripped the old bumper cap off this part, but i dunno how i will put new ones on. Any help?
