Default how to? remove pcv & oil breather elbows / grommets

Leaks around both of these. I have tried to remove them by twisting and pulling straight up with no luck. I tried prying the plastic up with no luck and broke part of it. They have been on for 190000 miles.

Any tips one can offer to pull these things off?

(see attached photo)

Any tips would be appreciated.

I just crushed mine and pulled them out, then the rubber grommet comes out easily. New ones went in with no problem

Thanks for the feedback. I was able to get my 15 year old pieces out by prying with a screw driver, which breaks pieces off, then cut a half inch section of the grommet away, then put a small screwdriver down the inside and outside of the grommet, which ends up slicing it and allows one to pull/pry the center plastic piece out.
