Default How to remove front seat-back adjusting handles

I got some new seat covers for my '91 Cherokee Limited. I want to remove the seat-back adjusting handles, so I can put them back on after the seat covers, and can't see how to do it.
I tried a few searches in the forums here but couldn't find anything.
There doesn't appear to be any set screws but there does appear to be some sort of mechanism to hold them on. I really don't want to break anything in the process.

Nobody's done this?
Guess I'll have to go to the JY and break theirs to see how it works?

On my 87 Pioneer at least, grab the handle pull straight out.

Yep. If they're stubborn, a flat pry bar insulated with a shop towel will help persuade them.

Just don't go all ninja on them. Be gentle and work them off a little at a time.

Thanks Ovation1000 and Firestorm500. I got them off.
There's a little plastic catch that keeps them on.
