I'm wanting to know how much would stock roof rails cost? I am looking at a roof rack to put my spare tire and other stuff on, I would buy one that mounts on the drip rails but they look weak. Any help will be much appreciated!

The ones that mount to the rain gutters are 2-3X stronger than the stock roof rack. Stock racks can be had on Ebay for $50 or. About the same at a PullUrPart JY.

 

I recently bought a roof rack off a wrecked xj at a local junkyard for 30 bucks or so. They can be had for cheap, there just hard to find because so many junk yard cherokees were rolled. Dont go to ebay though, they want like 75 bucks for just one cross bar

That looks like a nice rack, easily removable if needed and for 50 bucks you cant beat it

I bought 2 of these to create a 4 crossbar rack. The price can not be beat, and it is designed relatively well. All of the hardware has to be painted upon arrival though, because it is simply painted with black primer when it arrives, and will not survive the first winter in a rust area.

 

I ran a stock set up with extra crossbars for a long time with a spare up on it until I did my exo cage/ roll rack

I've got my rust free 2000 XJ with 192.000 miles up for sale now for $5600.oo. There's a stack of receipts for over 5k for the work done over the last four thousand miles. Everything from floor pans with new interor to complete heat/air rebuild, 1 ton front end with axels, bearings, tires, rims and a 3 inch lift.
Way to much money invested but can't seem to be able to recoup it.

I guess a lot depends on where your located and if folks are willing to travel for a deal.
