What size are your tires? Remember to factor in the fact that your odometer will not read correctly if your tires are not stock size. Might be time to do some work!

Every car that I know of will do at least 300 miles on "its" tank. That is some 6000 different makes and models. Unwritten rule from Detroit. 99% of them will do 400 miles. Fill up every 300 miles, combined driving and you are good.

Keep 40 miles in mind after the light blinks you or comes on. You should be good at that. Keep in her full will resist water condensate in gas related problems and give you long tank life. Your gonna burn it one way or the other so filler up each time.

4.10s and 31s work out waaaay differently than being 1mph off.

If anyone really wants to know, just bring along a FULL gas can. Gas can is something everyone should have anyway.

My book says I only have an 18 gal. tank, it's a '98. I've never been able to put more than that in when almost empty.

so i guess i own 3 different vehicles from 3 different detroit manuf none of which will do 400miles on a tank. must be a weird unwritten rule. the jeep and the ranger are the closest to it on the freeway and the ranger running on fumes did 350miles the jeep i have not seen 300miles on a tank yet.

I let my light come on only ONCE. As soon as the light came on I started sputtering and barely made it to a fill up station. When I filled up it took just under 20gal. I will NEVER run it that low again haha. I have reached approx. 420 miles on one tank before. Nearly 22 MPG! I just installed my first lift yesterday, 3"RC Serries II with full leafs so I think my 22MPG days are over

I have an '01 Xj and if I drive no faster then 60mph on the highway I get about 320-340mpg. I have driven back and forth between Fl. and Nc. many times and this is how I save money on the drive!
