there are lots and lots of articles about it as well. never change out your tstat. always run a 195*
What r u saying and what does it have to do with my post.

he's saying no matter what if you change the t-stat anytime of the year it will take the 4.0 longer to get up to the correct temp and cause more wear and tear. a 180 t-stat will take longer to warm up to operating temperature than a 195 t-stat will.

If the gauge had a C and H (no numbers) what would the operating temp be? No where in the FSM does it say 210 or 195 is normal operating temp.

I am putting a OEM replacement TStat in this thing in the am. My electric fan kicks on and runs and seems to help. I blew the radiator fins out today and they were not real dirty and also washed the radiator out. The system is full and as far as I can tell the water pump is flowing coolant. The radiator cap seems to hold pressure seeing as it is not bypassing coolant out to the ground. the overflow tank s not full or empty but has some in it. Will change tstat and see what happens. Maybe the fan clutch next. Is there a good upgrade as fas as this part goes? Or just use OEM? You guys have been great help and I will update how it goes later.

Funny that I just saw the same question posted. Anyway. Replace tstat and now runs not hotter than 210. Thanks all
