Default How to Fill Radiator Without Air

While I have owned my 1996 4.0 Cherokee since new, I have never figured out the best way to fill the radiator. I always get air pockets that take time to eliminate. My basic method is to add water to the fill cap, then try to squeeze out air by squeezing the upper hose.

Any suggestions?

There is a funnel specifically made for this.

Is includes a radiator cap attachment and funnel plug. Run it with the funnel attached til all the bubbles are out, plug the funnel, replace with normal cap.

Pretty sure I got mine from harbor freight.

Yes, I can see that the special funnel would work; thanks for the suggestion. Pulling the temp gauge sensor might also help.

The radiator funnel is way easier, tho.
