Default Immobilizer Cure

I spent almost a week, following the kind advice of many Jeep owners, on how to reset the Immobilizer/Anti-Theft lock-out.

None of them worked.

On the advice of an automobile locksmith (who told me he wouldn't want to take my money for a service call, then spent a half hour giving me advice) I bought a code scanner tool fo $150, which solved the problem.

Prior to this, the Jeep dealer said I'd have to have the car towed in ($125) and they'd have to make me a new key Fob ($600+).
Not so.I purchased an INNOVA 1003 CanOBD2 Diagnostic Tool.

The tool works on all cars manufactured since 1996.You can find them on the web at www.inova.com, but there's really no need.

Find your local NAPA dealer and order it.
The tool doesn't require an owner's manual or repair manual to interpret codes. It also includes a USB cable to connect the tool to your computer and the Internet, to help you fix whatever woes you might have.
All I did was scroll through the error messages, then delete the codes.
Voila!
My car runs again!

Do you have the UK version by chance? Or is it a US version with an add-on security system? '89 does not work with an OBDII scanner obviously, lol. It would help to know exactly what sort of immobilizer you have.
