How do you get to the motor mount bolts on the block
2000 Jeep Cherokee, 4.0L engine; also 2002 Grand. What is the best way to tighten the bolts going into the block. Do I need to support and remove the mounts for the frame to get clearance? Think I have the passenger side done, but can't seem to get to the driver's side. Do I need to put the front end up on ramps, or do I need to support the front end frame on jack stands so that the axle will droop?
Thanks,
Bill

Mine is a little different than yours, but I've found removing the air cleaner "opens a window" to all sorts of stuff down under there. "try it. you'll like it!" Lets you get at all sorts of stuff. The clearance on my drivers side isn't the bolts, it's just lunched. Top 1/2 of the "rubber" is long gone. And welcome to the forum! Flintstone.

I'm currently trying to work on the motor mount bolts that go into the 4.0L engine on the 2000 Cherokee. After I'm done with that I want to look into the bolts on the 4.0L in the 2002 Grand Cherokee.
