Default How do I know which size ID U-Bolts I need?

Ok so I am rather new to the whole jeep cherokee as most of you know, I've always lowered cars not raised trucks LOL! however I am very excited about this being my first time. I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ and I heard the ID U-Bolts will come in (2) different sizes 2 3/4" and 3" how do I know which size is correct for my jeep? I guess from what I understand the Chrysler rear end uses a 3" I.D. u-bolt and the Dana 35 rear axle requires a 2-3/4" I.D. u-bolt. How do I know which rear end I have? Thanks for the help! I am going to be putting on a 3" lift kit on my new jeep!
