Default How to determine if springs have sagged ??

What is the most accurate way to determine if the springs have sagged and by how much? I'm considering running 30x9.50's on stock wheels and have read that they will fit as long as the springs haven't sagged. I would like to avoid doing a small lift if I could. My 99 Sport currently has 235's and there are no rubbing issues. 30's are not much larger, but things could get close.....

Measure from the center of the hub, to the bottom of the fender flare. Do this for all 4 tires, and write it down. There should be specs of the stock measturements around. I can't remember what they are off the top of my head. 235/75/15 is 29". 30" tires tend to be a little less than 30" tall.

If you had pictures in your photo album, or included a side shot on this post. there are people that could tell you, just by looking at it. Not accurate, but could tell you to begin with. Or google: stock height of a Cherokee. Or browse through this site. http://www.xjjeeps.com/tech_referenc...section=2&ID=0 height specs are listed for a 2000, I don't believe '99 is any different.

Park it on flat ground and take a pic of the whole thing. Then take a pic of one of the leaf springs with as direct an angle as you can get. This is what mine looked like with springs sagged to the point where the top leaf was almost dead flat. It rode about 1.5" lower than the stock front coils:

And here it is with RC lift shackles easily clearing 30" ATs on ZJ alloys:

In any case, at worst you would need a pair of $50 lift shackles to clear the tires.
