Default how to determin the lift

how do I figure out how much lift I will get with shackles. I have 2 sets 1 is 5 inches center to center and the other is 6 inches.I thought the 5 inch ones were an inch but my buddy told me the 6 inch ones were an inch.thanks for the info in advance

you have to know some math formula to figure how much the center of your leaf will drop is you drop the back X much

Measure the stock Shackle, and compare it to the new one.

say the stock shackle is 4" C/C the 6" one will give you 1" lift. So you get 1/2 of difference as net lift with shackles

How is that determined. I would think 1inch for 1inch

I was thinking about that for a minute. 2 inches, is going to net you 2 inches. If it were like a tire, yes it'd net you half of the overall size. But if you have a 4inch shackle, and go to 6inches, that is going to gain you 1 inch of lift, on each mounting end of the shackle. Lets see if I can eplain this with the following diagram:

BELOW::



In between each line represents 1 inch. In the first diagram, In between the 0 and the 1 is the mounting surface to the vehicle, and between 3 and 4 is the mounting surface to the leaf eye. In the second diagram, between 0 and 1 is the mounting surface to the vehicle, and between 5 and 6 is the mounting surface to the leaf eye. So given my cheap diagram, you can see that each inch will give you an inch.
