how to cut the fender for bigger tires
On the rears you cant cut past the spot weld or else it will weaken the unibody and it will let debris up in the fender. You can trim up to just below the spot welds, then make a bunch of cuts to make pie cuts so you can fold up the edge. Someone will hopefully post pics of how to do it and probably explain it better than I can
in st petes my sister lives out there and i know my nieces would love to go
thank, Ric

Here are some before and after shots of my current project. After I trimmed the fenders, I had enough room to fit my 31's under it without a lift. I'm not sure of the backspacing of the rubicon wheels though. Mine are off a sahara edition, TJ.
If you are planning on doing some crawling, I would suggest cutting more than I did to fit those tires. I left a lip, so I trimmed (using a jigsaw with a good metal blade) about an inch and a half down from the very top of the pre existing stock flares.

Affirmative. I was running 32's on my old jeep with Rusty's 3", and was planning on going up to 33x10.5's. So I figured, if I could run 33's on a 3", then 31's with no lift should work.
good luck hopeful today me and my cousin can do this and i can got to bundy hill in mich. to play on saterday time will tell all they say good luck, Ric

just make sure you keep your bump stops adjusted =] if you get them rubbing on the fender they will slice your tires. (ask me how i know) and fold over your pinch seam in the inner fender well. this is 33" tires and 5.25" lift in the front 6.5" in the rear(playing on a little mound of dirt) clean looking jeeps everyone
I got into this over the weekend and removed all the junk. When I took off the wheel well liners up front I found a support bar coming from inside the body that was attached to the fender using the same bolts that held the fender trim. It's sucured to the body using rivets. Do I just cut this off?
