Question How to Clean all the Mud Out???

I Have a '94 Cherokee 4dr... I have the inside caked with mud... Was like that when I bought it...( I wish It was from me).

My question is: HOW DO I CLEAN IT ALL OUT?

My plan was to take the seats out (or cover them with trash bags) and go to a car was and spray the inside out (There is no carpet). Then vacume the water out... or are there factory made drain holes. Any other suggestions on what i could use to clean it out... what to avoid?? Thand

I like your idea of pulling the seats out but, use a stiff bristle brush to break the mud up and vaccuum as much out as you can, first. Then use a carpet and upolstery cleaner on it. If you get a lot of water on that carpet, you'll never get it all back out and you'll start to have the musty nasty wet dog smell inside. Most auto carpet is wool based.

Thanks, but there is no carpet in it now... So I am wanting to Blast the inside with a Power washer to get it all out and as clean as posible! Cause once all the mud/dirt is out I am going to spray the inside floor with Spray in bed liner. So my real question is once it has water in the Jeep... How to get it all out... And does it have stock Drain holes in the inside or should I rig some?... Maybe use the good old Smith and Wesson Drill I have in the golce box.... J/K about the gun... I mean drill

There is no factory drains in the floor. However you can creat some. I drilled some 1"Dia. holes in the floor and got some rubber body plugs. If the flroor is finished with a rubberized liner you can wash it with some murphys oil soap. If not, just a mild soap & water bath will work. Get the big stuff with a vaccume first.

You know I have never seen the bare floorboards of an XJ but, I believe all trucks and SUVs should have drain holes. I love your idea of doing the floorboards with spray in beadliner. Take pics of that so we all can see how it come out. As far as the drain holes. If they're made by drill bit or S&W, it's all good with me......sounds like fun, too.

the computer is just under the dash on the drivers side. also there is a transmission computer under the knee trim on the passenger side.

other than that, that's about it.
i'd do as said, and use a stiff bristle brush to break up any thick mud, then use a bucket with soap and water and brush the rest clean.
you can use a shop vac to clean the water up.

then use some armor all on the dash and whatnot. a toothbrush works great to get into the seams/stitching on the door panels etc.

cheers.

Go to your dealer or junk yard and get some TJ rubber drain plugs. I think they are 1.5 or 2" in diameter. I would get four of these one for each foot zone. Drill the hole, paint it over and insert the plug. It'll be worth it later on when you need to clean it out again.

If drilling holes is a no-no to you, use a wet/dry shop vac to suck out the water.

I'd use a low pressure garden hose, soapy water and a stiff plastic bristle brush. Lot less chance of getting under dash and electrical items wet. I've cleaned my old tj with a high pressure hose before and its kind of a pain. Blasts crap everywhere. When mine got caked and dried, i'd just leave the drain plugs in, "fill it" with soapy water n let it sit for a little bit to loosen the crud. then brush n rinse.
And x2 on the toothbrush. Works wonders on detail work.
