How do you change the transfer case on a 95 cherokee.Automatic, 4.0....???? also will it hurt it if the transer case is bad and you still drive it in 2wd????

 

If you plan on working on your own vehicle, probably the best thing that you can do is go buy a service manual (Chilton, Haynes, etc.). They will give you step by step instructions on how to take apart and put back together pretty much everything including all necessary specs. As far as the TC goes, remove driveshafts, disconnect selector linkage, and unbolt from tranny. I can't remember but you may have to remove the crossmember and if you do, be sure to support the tranny with a jackstand or the like.

As far as driving in 2wd, it depends whats broke.

 

How long does it take to do it?

 

Depends on your wrenching abilities and the tools at your disposal but I'd say the average person would take half a day
