Default HOW THE ****!!!

do i remove the pivot bolt for the altenator in my XJ. i popped it loose but i cant seem to get it out. ive tried beating it out with a BFH and turning it with a ratchet. it just turns the whole bolt but nothing happens and im gettin SUPAH IRRITATED! so any help would be fantastic kthx

u will have an easier tine if u unbolt the bracket that the alt is bolted to.

The main bolt has a nut on the back? Much easier if you remove the clutch fan.. then remove the alt. bracket that bolts to the front with 4 nuts i believe.

u dont need to do any thing with the fan.

do this^, and removing the fan makes it a ton easier (if your didnt remove the belt yet) but is not nessesary
