Default hot no start sputters 96 xj

I was replacing my rear leaf springs when I got stuck in the last bolt. Took it to a shop to cut off sleeve from bolt to get last eye off. Dropped off at 10am picked up 52 hours later and was calling to see what's up 4 times.

Got it out and drove fine for two days. I ran the tank really low after going across town in highway.

Filled up in the morning and noticed a jump while driving. Felt at low rpms going uphill so I hobbled into advance where she cut off when I stopped. Changed fuel filter and it looked like chocolate milk. Added 16oz seafoam. Made it home ok.

Problem disappeared as the tank ran lower. Felt like I could spin tires. Filled up and wanted to highway test. Soon as I saw 55 it started jumping again.

Drove it for 2 days fine then back in same shop for ac compressor, orfice tube, and accumulator.

Dropped off at 8 am picked up 32 hours later 5pm just got done. Called twice on second day.

Fine for two days now time for more symptoms.

Fine until warmed up. Wants to sputter at 500ish rpm and when it comes to, revs up to about 1400ish.

Changed plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor button. Gave me just enough to get home.

Checking pregapped plugs again but I don't think that's what it is.

Looking at haynes trying to narrow down hot no start stuff.

I am leaning toward cps tps but really think it's the fuel pump.

Any pointers from those who I appreciate for reading the story of my life?

It sounds crazy, but sometimes a bad battery can cause stuff like that.

Also don't forget to check all your fuses and relays.

got some vids on youtube.

vids from last night and this morning after I drove nine miles. currently wont start. turns but wont run. check engine light gone.

since the fuel filter change I have only put 12 more gallons in and down to a quarter tank. Should I drain the tank and check the fuel pump? might as well replace pump while I'm there/clean tank try to see if the fuel lines are clogged somehow?

I would if you found that in the filter its also in the tank. that pump is shot i wanna say. I here everyone say don't run your tank with less than 1/4 tank. cause It keeps the pump cooled

Wasn't near a scanner when light was on. I will throw that on the list of possible solutions that I feel comfortable trying myself. Will try to find time in the next two days to work on it. Woosah

Started this morning. I cut it off immediately. Do my best to check vacuum leaks and plug connections. Don't have a multi meter or stethoscope but I'll check.

Is the map sensor adjustable?

Map sensors not adjustable but seeing you just had it worked on very possible the plastic line could of gotten cracked they get very brittle thru the years .

I disconnected the battery when I put in the spark plugs. If it shows again will do.
